Foreign Ministries of Cuba and Trinidad and Tobago exchange on matters of mutual interest.

Port of Spain, February 8.- The general director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Eugenio Martínez Enríquez, who completes a work visit in the Caribbean country, held a cordial and fruitful exchange with Mrs. Jennifer Marchand, director of CARICOM -Cuba of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and CARICOM at the MFA. The Cuban diplomat was accompanied by the Cuban Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, Guillermo Vázquez Moreno.

Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs warns of the seriousness of the message of arrogance and contempt with which the Secretary of State of the United States began a tour of several countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.

On the eve of his trip, on Thursday, February 1, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, in an appearance at the University of Texas at Austin, made alarming interventionist statements that openly instigate the overthrow, by any means, of the legitimate government of Venezuela, and are also aimed at undermining the unanimous repudiation of the region of the retrogressive measures and tightening of the economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba, whose purpose is to harm the Cuban economy and people to attempt to subdue the country

Remarks delivered by Senator the Honourable Dennis Moses, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago at the reception in celebration of the National Day of Cuba.

Good evening to you all.

It is indeed an honour and a pleasure to extend, on behalf of the Government and People of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and on my own behalf, warmest greetings to the Government and People of the Republic of Cuba as we gather to celebrate the Fifty-ninth Anniversary of that historic event, “El Triunfo de la Revolución,” which took place on January 01, 1959.

On this special occasion, I wish to commend our Cuban friends on their significant accomplishments in culture, education, health, science and sports. I also wish to further commend the Government of Cuba on its determination to explore new ideas and implement new economic strategies, which aim at giving every Cuban a stake in national development, as well as the opportunity to contribute fully to and to share equally in the creation of a better Cuba

Memories of Marti: book launched at UWI

IDEAS and works of the celebrated Cuban 'son of the soil' Jose Marti are reflected in the book Trinidad y Tobago/Cuba Historia, Lengua y Literatura.

The book is not only important because of the contents within, but also due to the possibilities it opens for future research to enhance and deepen our understanding and knowledge about Caribbean societies and their outstanding men and women.

Direct flight between Havana and Port of Spain is inaugurated.

Port of Spain – 13 January 2018 – With the presence of the Minister of Trade and Industry of Trinidad and Tobago, Paula Gopee Scoon, the Ambassador of Cuba, Guillermo Vazquez Moreno, and the executive board of the Airline Caribbean Airlines - the Caribbean Airlines flight BW 456 that will link the capitals of Cuba and Trinidad and Tobago was inaugurated at the Piarco International Airport. The official ceremony counted with the presence of businessmen and the press who will cover the return of the Trinidadian airline to the largest Antilles as well as more than a hundred tourists who decided to witness this historic moment.
