June 7, 2024-. Cuba was re-elected today as deputy member of the Governing Body of the International Labor Organization (ILO), for the period 2024-2027.
With 193 votes, Cuba was the country with the highest support in its regional group.
The vote took place in the context of the 112th International Labor Conference, which is in session in Geneva until June 14. A total of 18 titular members and 28 deputy members were elected.
Nassau, June 5, 2024. Cuban residents and solidarity friends in The Bahamas spoke out against the decision of the United States Department of State to keep Cuba on its spurious list of state sponsors of terrorism.
They describe the fact as unfair and unfounded, highlighting Cuba's historical role as a victim of terrorism and its unwavering commitment to the fight against this scourge, both in its territory and in support of other nations.

New York, May 1, 2024.- Cuba described it as shameful that, once again, the United States government has prevented the realization of the legitimate aspirations of the Palestinian people.
During his remarks at the plenary meeting of the United Nations General Assembly on the use of the veto in the Security Council, Ambassador Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, Permanent Representative of Cuba to the United Nations, denounced that, with the most recent veto, United States deprived the State of Palestine of its right to join the United Nations as a full member.
