The Pan Africanist Coalition of Organizations (PACO), the Association of Barbados-Cuba Friendship and the embassies of Cuba and Venezuela in Barbados paid tribute to the woman in a simple but a lot of content activity, on March 8. During an evening in which anecdotes abounded, acknowledgments, art, also gave an interesting exchange of experiences on the struggle for equality for women in different countries.
World Day of Prayer was devoted to Cuba by several churches of different religious affiliation on March 4th 2016. At least St Philip´s Parish Church, Speightstown Methodist Church and St John´s Church have done a Worship Service, which was prepared by the Cuban WDP Committee entitled “Receive children. Receive me”. To this purpose, the coordinators of these activities, Sisters Joyce Sealy, Peggy Wilkes and Marcia Miller, respectively, visited the Cuban Embassy in Barbados to get some information and national symbols for the contextualization of the service.

President of the Barbados Alzheimer's Association, Pamelia Brereton, invited its counterpart from Cuba to attend the Second Caribbean Conference on Alzheimer's and other mental illnesses. Dr. John J. Llibre, president of the Cuban Section of Alzheimer attended the event held at Bridgetown from February 23 to 25, which was also attended by executives and experts from the region, being inaugurated by the Minister of Development social, Hon.
