Cuba expresses its condemnation and condolences for the terrorist attacks in Iran

The President of the Councils of State and Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, sent a message to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Hassan Rouhani, to convey condolences for the dozens of dead and wounded in the terrorist attacks of June 7th against the headquarters of the Islamic Consultative Assembly and the Imam Khomeini Mausoleum in Tehran. The Cuban president asked to extend his condolences to the relatives of the victims.

 

Press Release: U.S. levies a new fine for violating blockade against Cuba.

New York, 9 June 2017. The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the Treasury Department levied a new fine upon American Honda Finance Corporation (AHFC), which amounts to $87,255 for violating the regulations of the U.S. blockade against Cuba.

OFAC claimed in this case that one of Canada's AHFC subsidiaries approved and financed 13 car lease arrangements between a Honda dealer and the Cuban Embassy in Ottawa between February 2011 and March 2014.

Cuba and St. Mary, Jamaica call to strengthen bilateral ties

ST. MARY, JAMAICA,  June 9th, 2017.-  Senior officials of St. Mary Parish appealled to strengthen the bilateral ties with Cuba and to increase the commercial, academic exchanges. 

During a two-day visit carried out to St. Mary, a representation from the Embassy of Cuba, led by Dr. Jorge Sanches Fuentes, in charge of cultural, academic and commercial affairs, and members of the Cuban entrepeneurial group GESIME, held fruitful exchanges with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, Agriculture and Industry of this region.
