Cuban Ambassador exchanges with parliamentarians who recently visited Cuba

Indonesia, June 14, 2017. Cuban Ambassador Nirsia Castro Guevara met with members of the Indonesia-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group at the House of Representatives to review the results of the visit to Cuba last May of a delegation of the Mentioned Group. During the meeting the parliamentarians commented to the Cuban diplomat on the different exchanges that they held in Cuba, as well as other activities that they carried out in the Island.

In the annual session of UNICEF Executive Board, the delegate of Cuba Biana Leyva considered the Fund’s Strategic Plan 2018-2021 shall articulate with QCPR mandates; meet countries’ priorities and national capacities; and not be constituted in the establishment of rigid demarcations, pre-established formulas or universal approaches applicable to all programs.

The United Nations Cuban Association (ACNU) and its 105 associated civil society organizations support the negotiations within the framework of the United Nations Organization (UNO) of a legally binding international instrument prohibiting nuclear weapons leading towards their total elimination.

Reaching a binding agreement on this matter would demonstrate the political will of States in building a world of peace, consistent with the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations.
