Ambassador of Cuba conducts exchange at Griffith University
Brisbane, September 16, 2024. The Cuban Ambassador to Australia, Dr. Tanieris Diéguez, exchanged today with professors and academics from Griffith University in the state of Queensland. During the meeting they discussed Cuba's progress on gender issues, in particular the innovative and advanced elements of the Cuban Family Code.
It was an opportunity to exchange on the potential for cooperation between Australian and Cuban universities.
The meeting was attended by academics and scholars of family law, constitutional law, gender violence, among other topics.
Cuban Ambassador inaugurates Brisbane Film Festival
Brisbane, October 16, 2024. The Cuban Ambassador to Australia opened today the Latin American Film Festival in Brisbane.
The film that had the honor of opening the event was “Strawberry and Chocolate”, a classic of Cuban cinema, which was appreciated and applauded by the audience.
Cubans living in Australia hold 10th annual Casino Wheel and Cuban Dance Festival
Sydney, October 11-13, 2024. During the whole weekend the 10th Casino Wheel Championship and Cuban Dance Festival was held in the city of Sydney. The Cuban community in this beautiful Australian city, led by Airagdin Pavon More (El Moro) founder of the event prepared this beautiful event where more than 10 wheels from various Australian cities participated.
Cubans in Australia participate in Telecommunications Business Forum
Canberra, October 9, 2024. Yesterday, Cubans from the telecommunications sector participated from Australia in the First Business Forum for the Sector jointly sponsored by MINCOM and MINREX.
During the event they were able to learn about ways to participate in the development of the country, with project proposals and business advice in the field of technology and communications.
Latin American Poetry and Music Event takes place in Canberra
Canberra, 9 October 2024. A concert of music and poetry by Latin American women at the Wesley Music Center concert hall in Canberra. The excellent pianist Irma Enriquez performed classical works by Latin American women composers.
