"From Australia to Cuba with Love" Campaign ends successfully

Canberra, 26 July 2024. The third edition of the "From Australia to Cuba with Love" Campaign was successfully carried out from 1 June to 26 July 2024.

During the Campaign, 17,752 km were covered, surpassing the planned goal of 14,886 km (distance between Havana and Canberra). In addition, $ 8240.00 was raised, which will go to "Agro Vivo", an urban agriculture project in the community of Playa Girón to strengthen food security.

Cuban ambassador meets with Mayor of the city of Perth, Western Australia

Perth, 24 July 2024. The Cuban Ambassador to Australia, Tanieris Diéguez met with Basil Zempilas, Mayor of the City of Perth, as part of her official visit to the State of Western Australia.

During the meeting, they talked about Cuban sports and culture.

The ambassador thanked the mayor for the warm welcome to the city.

Statement by the Cuban Olympic Committee

In May 2024, the international press reported on the composition of the Refugee Olympic Team (ROT) for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, in which two Cuban athletes were included with no justification.

The ROT was publicly presented as a group of young athletes “uprooted by war or persecution.”

Cuban ambassador meets with Governor of Western Australia

Perth, 23 July 2024. The Cuban ambassador to Australia, Tanieris Diéguez, met with the Honourable Christopher John Dawson, Governor of Western Australia, as part of her official visit to the Australian state.

Both officials exchanged on issues of common interest.

The Ambassador expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome in Western Australia.
