Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba is established in the Federal Parliament of Australia
Canberra, November 24, 2022 - The new Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba has been officially constituted for the current legislature of the Australian Federal Parliament (period 2022-2025).
The group is made up of a total of 32 federal parliamentarians; of them, 21 deputies of the House of Representatives and 11 Senators.
The Group will be chaired by Sharon Claydon, Labor MP, who in turn holds the position of Vice-President of the House of Representatives in the Federal Parliament. Claydon MP served as Group Vice Chair from 2019-2022.
Australian Deputy Secretary receives Cuban ambassador in Canberra
Canberra, October 24, 2022 - The Cuban ambassador, Ariel Lorenzo Rodríguez, was received by the Australian Deputy Secretary (Deputy Chancellor), Michelle Chan, at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade headquarters.
During the meeting, both diplomats exchanged on cooperation in the multilateral field, the current state of relations between the two countries and the potentials for further strengthening Cuba-Australia relations.
Ambassador Lorenzo Rodriguez updated the Deputy Secretary on the main issues related to Cuba.
