Cuban residents in Australia celebrate National Culture Day
Canberra, October 20, 2020.- A group of Cuban artists residing in several states of Australia, joined in an audiovisual project along with the Embassy of Cuba to celebrate the Day of Cuban Culture.
Ballet and popular rhythms dancers, as well as musicians and scholars of the Afro-Cuban religion, tell us from their individual experiences how they have contributed to promoting Cuban culture in this distant country through their artistic work, and to keep alive the sense of Cuban identity from its authenticity and the unshakable attachment to its roots.
The campaign for the release of the Five Cuban Heroes was remembered in Australia
Canberra, 14 September 2020.- The Australia-Cuba Friendship Association (ACFS), joined the call launched by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) on 12 September to commemorate the 22nd anniversary of the unjust imprisonment of the Five Cuban Heroes by the government of the United States. From there, “The Five” prevented the materialisation of terrorist actions against Cuba.
National Rebellion Day is commemorated in Australia
Canberra, July 26, 2020. The Cuban Embassy in Australia commemorated on the eve the anniversary of July 26 in the city of Canberra along with a representation of the Australia-Cuba Friendship Society.
The Cuban ambassador, Ariel Lorenzo Rodríguez, recalled the significance of such an important date in the country's history which has become a symbol of faith in victory for all Cubans by making Fidel the undisputed leader of the revolutionary process that conquered the definitive independence of Cuba on January 1, 1959.
