On May 1st, Australian organizations in solidarity with Cuba raised their voices against the blockade
Brisbane, 1st May, 2023. The Cuba solidarity movement in the city of Brisbane demanded an end to the U.S. blockade against Cuba in a large march through the streets of that Australian city.
Minutes before the colorful parade, full of banners and flags, the Cuban Ambassador transmitted an online message to the participants. The event was attended by senior members as well as younger members of the movement. After the parade, information was provided on the upcoming actions of the Southern Cross Brigade.
Cuban Ambassador exchanges with Cubans living in Sydney
Sidney, 1st May, 2023. The Cuban ambassador to Australia exchanged with a group of residents in Australia, in the framework of the itinerant consulate held in that city.
The exchange was conducive to transfer information about Cuba and the possibilities of insertion of the Cuban community residing in Australia in the activities organized by the diplomatic Mission.
In addition, the diplomat reaffirmed the importance for Cuba of having Cubans living abroad and strengthening the ties between the nation and emigration.
Cuban Ambassador exchanges with Cuban teachers working in Australian indigenous communities
Sydney, 1st May, 2023. The Cuban Ambassador to Australia met with part of the team of Cuban teachers who teach language classes in Aboriginal communities in Australia.
During the meeting, the diplomat thanked the collaborators for the work they carry out with the Cuban method Yes, I can in the most disadvantaged communities. For their part, the Cuban teachers expressed their commitment to the task and shared their experiences in teaching the language in that country.
Cuban Ambassador participates in the event "A Toast to Cuba on May Day", organized by the Cuba solidarity movement in Sydney
Sydney, 30 April, 2023. The solidarity event "A Toast to Cuba on May Day" was held today in Sydney. The activity was attended by the Cuban Ambassador to the Commonwealth of Australia and other members of the Cuban mission accredited to that country.
Itinerant Consulate in Sydney
Sydney, 30 April, 2023. An itinerant consulate was held this Sunday at the headquarters of the Maritime Union of Australia. It was coordinated by the Head of the Consular Section of Cuba in Australia, Ms. Ivianes Gonzalez.
The event also served to provide information to the Cuban community living in that Australian city, on the various consular procedures that can be carried out in the Cuban consulates, as well as an update on Cuban family law.
