The prestigious University of Vienna hosted a conference given by Adriana Nirvia Silvente Milhet, official of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) and Ofelia García Campusano, professor at the University of Guantánamo; who intervened before a large audience of academics, students and friends of solidarity, to present the reality of the territory illegally occupied by the Guantanamo Naval Base, in eastern Cuba.

“ÖKG”, the Austria-Cuba Friendship Association organized a space for providing information and promoting a debate on Cuba at the book store of the Trade Union Confederation of Austria (ÖGB by its German initials) where the representation of the Embassy of Cuba in Austria participated.

 An extensive program of work in the capital of the region of Lower Austria made a representation of the Embassy of Cuba in Austria, headed by the Chargé d'Affaires a.i. Marieta García Jordán. The Cuban delegation was received at the City Hall by the Mayor, Matthias Stadler, who is also President of the Social Democratic Party (SPÖ) in Lower Austria and one of the Vice Presidents of that party at the Federal level; by the Federal Parliamentarian, Robert Laimer and by other members of the City Council.

Vienna, February 20, 2018. Dr. Thomas Drozda, President of the Culture Commission of the Austrian Federal Parliament, received the Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Cuba in that country, Marieta García Jordán, in a cordial meeting at the legislative headquarters.
