Cuba in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas

The British High Commissioner to The Bahamas pays a courtesy call on Cuban Ambassador.

Nassau, 23 August 2019. The British High Commissioner to The Bahamas, Mrs. Sarah Dickson, paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency Ismara M. Vargas Walter, Ambassador of Cuba. During the cordial meeting, they both exchanged about the links of their nations with The Bahamas and other topics of common interest.

First Secretary of the Cuban Embassy, Yusimí Pompa Santos also attended the meeting.

New officials of the Bahamian Ministry of Foreign Affairs dialogued with the Cuban Ambassador about the good state of bilateral relations

Nassau, 22 August 2019. In a cordial and respectful environment, a meeting of the Cuban Ambassador, Ismara M. Vargas Walter and new officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this Caribbean nation took place a few days ago in The Bahamas. The meeting was part of the training program developed by the aforesaid Ministry. The diplomat highlighted the historical links, as well as the achievements made in 45 years of diplomatic relations between Cuba and The Bahamas, officially initiated on 30 November 1974.

Tributo a José Martí en Las Bahamas

The Bahamas, 26 July 2019. With the participation of local authorities, members of the Cuban mission and the solidarity group with Cuba and the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Bahamas, tribute was paid to José Martí, intellectual author of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks on the 66th anniversary of such heroic events.

Cultural links with Cuba are highlighted in celebrations for the 46th anniversary of the independence of The Bahamas

The Bahamas, 10 July 2019. As an expression of the strong ties in the field of culture and in the context of the 45th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and The Bahamas, four Cuban artists were invited by the government of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas to participate in the Cultural Gala for the 46th anniversary of the independence of this Caribbean nation.
