On September 29, 2017, the US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson announced the decision to significantly downscale the diplomatic staff of the US embassy in Havana and withdraw all their relatives, claiming that there had been “attacks” perpetrated against US Government officials in Cuba which have harmed their health.

The Bahamas, 14 September 2017. - It was of great sadness to learn of the loss of life and the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma in Cuba. The Government of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas extends its heartfelt condolences to the family members of the deceased, the people and the Government of the Republic of Cuba.

 

The people of The Bahamas will continue to pray for the victims and their families and they send best wishes for a quick recovery of the survivors of the storm.

THE BAHAMAS, August 15th, 2016.- The Embassy of Cuba in The Bahamas joined the celebrations for the 90th birthday of Fidel, with the art exhibition " The Construction" by the Cuban resident Silvia Irene Blanco Hidalgo.

During the event, attended by members of the diplomatic mission of Cuba, a representation of Cubans residents, Bahamians friends the solidarity group, students graduates in our country and the prestigious artist and Bahamian sculptor Antonius Roberts, the congratulatory message was sent to Fidel.

THE BAHAMAS, July 6, 2017.- In a modest and touching ceremony, the Cuban Ambassador in the Bahamas, Ismara Vargas Walter, bid farewell yesterday to seven Bahamian students who will travel to Cuba to study medical careers, as part of the scholarship program that the island offers to young people with scarce economic resources in different countries.
