Minister of Foreign Affairs of The Bahamas travels to Cuba to attend funeral in honor of Commander Fidel Castro Ruz
THE BAHAMAS, 30th November, 2016. -A Bahamian delegation, headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, Hon. Fred Mitchell, traveled to Havana to attend the funeral of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, representing the Bahamian government.
The presence of the Caribbean delegation in Cuba in homage to Fidel is in addition to the declaration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Bahamas, conveying condolences for the physical disappearance of Fidel.
Cuban Ambassador delivered a lecture on the Cuban History and the present situation
THE BAHAMAS, 4th November, 2016. – As part of the Caribbean History course, the Cuban Ambassador to The Bahamas, Ismara Vargas Walter, lectured Bahamian students and teachers at Omega College about the History of Cuba.
At the meeting, the diplomat also provided information on current national developments and the measures implemented in Cuba in the context of the process of updating the economic model.
Tribute is paid to The Hero of Yaguajay in The Bahamas
THE BAHAMAS, 28th October 2016. –This afternoon members of the Cuban Mission in The Bahamas met at Montagu Beach in the Bahamian capital to pay tribute to the Commander of the Rebel Army Camilo Cienfuegos, one of the emblematic figures of the Cuban Revolution.
Diplomats and representatives of various Cuban entities currently in Nassau threw flowers into the sea marking the 57th anniversary of his physical disappearance. This ritual obeys to a traditional gesture of remembrance to the "Lord of the Vanguard", as Camilo was named by his comrades.
Cuba gets back up the Grand Prize of the International Cultural Festival of the Bahamas
THE BAHAMAS, 24 October 2016.- Once again the name of Cuba reached the highest place at the International Cultural Festival of the Bahamas. Under the theme "We are Cuba" our representation managed to captivate the jury and got the Grand Prize among the 26 participating countries. Also, the area of Cuba retained the 1st place in the Caribbean region. For the defense of the subject, the exaltation of the Cuban traditions and the contribution made by Cubans for decades in the Bahamian society were essential.
