Cuba in Barbados

An emotional ceremony held to commemorate in Barbados the 46th anniversary of the terrorist attack on CUBANA 455 flight and the murder of the 73 passengers on board, with the renewal of the dedication of the restored monument.

In a solemn act organized in collaboration by the Government of Barbados and the Embassy of Cuba in that country, on the morning of October 6, the date that marks the anniversary of this aircraft bombing in Barbados, a representation of authorities, diplomats, religious, athletes, doctors, nurses, civil solidarity movements and Cuban residents gathered at the monument erected in front of the site where CUBANA flight 455 crashed in the waters of the Caribbean Sea, a monument which was inaugurated in 1998 by Commander in Chief, Fidel Castro Ruz.

The meeting took place in a fraternal atmosphere in which both delegations exchanged on the excellent state of bilateral relations and ratified the will to continue expanding cooperation between the two countries.
