Pretoria, January 22 2019.- The Ambassador of Cuba in South Africa, Rodolfo Benítez Verson, held a meeting at the Embassy of the Island in Pretoria with Comrade Bonginkosi Emmanuel "Blade" Nzimande, Minister of Transport and Secretary General of the Communist Party of South Africa.
During the meeting the parties exchanged on various issues of the bilateral and international agenda, and preparations were completed for the work visit to Cuba of Comrade Nzimande at the head of a South African delegation, from January 20-23.
On behalf of Cuban Government and the Cuban people, President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez expressed condolences to Vietnam after the human and material damages caused by recent floods in the northern part of the Indochinese country.
In a letter addressed to President Tran Dai Quang, and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the Cuban head of State and Government extended his message to the family of the victims of the natural disaster.

The Peninsula, 16 de noviembre 2017.- Renowned Cuban contemporary artist Juan Arel Ruiz Contino along with Cuban Ambassador to Qatar Emilio Caballero Rodriguez visited the Cultural Village Foundation – Katara on Wednesday.
They were received by Katara General Manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti.
They discussed ways to enhance joint cultural cooperation through hosting cultural events and exhibitions that contribute to strengthening of the mutual relations between Katara and the Cuban Embassy.
The Cuba-US Bilateral Commission held its 6th meeting in Washington D.C., on September 19th, 2017. Ms. Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, General Director of the US Affairs Division of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs led the Cuban delegation, and Mr. John Creamer, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs in the US Department of State, headed the US delegation.
In order to pay a courtesy call, Cuban mission chief, Yordenis Despaigne Vera, was received at the headquarters of the ruling party of that country, Unity Party, by several official of this organization. The Liberian delegation was headed by Mr. Eugene Lenn Nagbe, current Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Liberia and secretary general of UP, accompanied by Isaac F. Mannah, national vice chairman for government relations, among other leaders of the organization. The Chargé d'Affaires was accompanied by the Second Secretary Carmen Maury.
In the afternoon of Friday, December 9, the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Liberia, Mr. Saah 'Ntow Charles, paid a courtesy call to the Director General for Bilateral Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Ambassador Gerardo Peñalver Portal. The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Cuban diplomatic mission in Liberia, in the presence of the Cuban Chargé d'Affaires in that African nation, Yordenis Despaigne Vera and the Second Secretary Carmen Maury.
