Botswana and Cuba ratify reciprocal interest in medical cooperation

Cuban Ambassador HE Patricia L. Pego Guerra paid a Courtesy Call to the new Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Wellness of Botswana, Ms. Grace Muzila.

She was accompanied by Dr. Liam Kadel, National Coordinator of the Cuban Medical Team.

In the meeting, the parties reaffirmed the political will to maintain the bonds of cooperation in health sector.

Botswana and Cuba, exchange experiences on agriculture, livestock and aquaculture.

Cuban Ambassador HE Patricia L. Pego Guerra, met with Mr. Thabang Leslie Botshoma, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Agricultural Development and Food Security of Botswana.

They were accompanied by officers and experts in issues of common interest on the areas of agriculture, livestock and aquaculture.

The parties expressed the willingness of both governments to consolidate and enhance the bilateral cooperation, with more than 43 years of outstanding achievements.

Despite the US blockade, Cuba is considered a world leader in Biotechnology.

Article published by the newspaper Botswana Guardian covers the efforts of Cuba to move forward into different stages of tests to approve candidates and finally produce the vaccines against Covid-19.

It acknowledges the achievements of Cuba in biotechnology, in spite of the US blockade.

Cuban Ambassador HE Patricia L. Pego Guerra, met Mr. Tebelelo Boang, Director of Europe and Americas, at the Honourable Ministry of International Affairs and Cooperation of Botswana.

They exchanged on issues of the bilateral agenda, at current circumstances marked by Covid-19 and its negative effects in both countries.

Ratified the willingness of their governments to maintain, strengthen and enhance the historic bonds of brotherhood and cooperation, after more than 43 year.
