Cuban Medical Teams for 2021 Nobel Peace Prize
Statement - Monday, November 16, 2020 - The Council of Canadians’ statement on nominating Cuban international health teams for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize.
At the June 2020 Annual Meeting, Council of Canadians' members voted to endorse and promote a Canadian nominating process for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize to go the Henry Reeve medical teams from Cuba for their international work in the context of COVID-19.
Petition in favor of lifting the blockade against Cuba is presented in the Canadian Parliament
Ottawa, October 22, 2020 - This afternoon, Stéphane Bergeron, Member of Parliament and Foreign Affairs Critic for the Bloc Québécois Party, presented a petition to the House of Commons signed by 577 Canadian citizens, including Cubans permanently residing in this northern country, in favour of lifting the blockade imposed by the US government against Cuba. This petition was initiated last April by citizens of the province of Quebec.
