Member of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission receives Cuba's Minister of Higher Education

Tehran, July 4, 2026. Alaeddin Boroujerdi, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, received Dr. Walter Baluja García, Cuba's Minister of Higher Education. Baluja García traveled to Tehran leading the official Cuban delegation that participated in the ceremony honoring the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Cuban delegation attends tribute ceremony for the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran

Tehran, July 3, 2026. The official delegation of the Republic of Cuba, led by Dr. Walter Baluja García, Minister of Higher Education, attended the tribute ceremony for the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei. The event took place at the Imam Khomeini Grand Mosque, a vast religious complex in Tehran.

Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several members of his family died in the airstrike on February 28, at the onset of the attacks by the United States and Israel against Iran.

Cuban ambassador visits the Pasteur Institute of Iran

The Cuban ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Jorge Lefebre Nicolás, paid a working visit to the Pasteur Institute based in Tehran, a famous scientific institution dedicated to the research and production of biopharmaceutical products widely used in public health. For several decades, the Pasteur Institute has maintained close cooperation in the scientific area with Cuba, and whose most relevant result is the production of a joint vaccine against the coronavirus that has contributed to saving many lives in the Central Asian region.
