Ambassador Juan Antonio Fernández Palacios was received by Ms. Gabriele Eschig Secretary-General of the Austrian Commission for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The courtesy call took place in the premises of that institution in a friendly atmosphere in which Ambassador Fernández Palacios referred to the seven decades of relations between Cuba and the UNESCO and to the historical bonds expressed in the celebration of the 70 anniversary in 2017.

Once again, Cuba attends the Universal Periodic Review to ratify its firm commitment with the guarantees for the exercise of human rights.

Distinguished Delegates, Excellency Ambassador Lotfi Bouchaara, I congratulate you on your election as head of the twenty-seventh session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice; congratulations that I make extensive to the other members of the Bureau.
The delegation of Cuba associates itself fully with the statements made by the distinguished representatives of Ecuador and Bolivia, on behalf of the Group of 77 plus China, and the Group of Latin American and Caribbean States, respectively.

The Embassy of Cuba is pleased to attach the National Report by the Republic of Cuba to the Universal Periodic Review of the Human Rights Counsil.
The Revolutionary Government of the Republic of Cuba vehemently condemns the criminal attack on the defenseless Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip, by the Israeli Army which has killed at least 52 people and left over 2,400 injured.
This act constitutes another serious and flagrant violation of the UN Charter and international humanitarian law, and a new outrage against the Palestinian people.
The Program of the concert, masterfully performed, included classics by Lecuona, with special arrangements by Valle, as well as compositions penned by both artists, which showcase their creative versatility.
