President of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernandez arrived in Hanoi on September 24, beginning a five-day visit to Vietnam to attend a ceremony to mark 50 years of leader Fidel Castro’s trip to the liberated zone in Southern Vietnam. The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, sent congratulatory messages to the Governor General of this Federation, H.E.D. Marcella Liburd and the Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, on the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of the independence of this Caribbean nation.
For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, also sent a message of congratulations to his counterpart, Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas.
As part of the visit to Saint Kitts and Nevis of the Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella, a cordial meeting was held with his local counterpart, the Honourable Dr. Geoffrey Hanley at the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy.
The meeting, held in a friendly atmosphere, was conducive to verifying the good state of relations between the two nations and the mutual interest in strengthening existing ties.
