Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam has highlighted the significance of Cuban Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz’s first visit to Vietnam 50 years ago, as well as the rare and pure Vietnam – Cuba special and long-lasting relations and friendship in international relations. In a recent interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Cuban leader's historic visit to the liberated zone in central Quang Tri province of Vietnam, Orlando said it holds great significance for Cuban leader Fidel.

Deputy PM calls for support from Cuban leader for stronger economic ties

Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai received Vice President of the Cuban National Assembly of People’s Power Ana Maria Machado in Hanoi, calling for support from the Cuban leader for economic, trade, and investment ties to develop on par with political relations between the two nations. Khai said that the visit by Machado, who has been in Vietnam to attend the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, demonstrates Cuba’s support for Vietnam and helps strengthen the special traditional friendship between the two countries.

Deputy Prime Minister of Cuba meets with Head of Government of St Kitts and Nevis

The Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Hon Dr. Terrance Drew, visited Deputy Prime Minister Jorge Luis Perdomo Di-Lella at the offices of the Cuban Embassy. The Cuban Deputy Prime Minister is in this Federation heading a delegation to participate in the commemorations of the 40th anniversary of independence.

During the fraternal meeting, Jorge Luis Perdomo expressed his satisfaction for being in this sister nation and for the possibility of taking part in the celebrations for the four decades of independence, which are celebrated on September 19.

Vietnam attaches importance to ties with Cuba: VUFO President

Vietnam attaches importance to further strengthening solidarity, special and loyal friendship with Cuba as well as stepping up cooperation in fields of their strength, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) Phan Anh Son told Vice President of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State of Cuba Ana María Mari Machado during a reception in Hanoi on September 15. 

Book on Cuban leader Fidel Castro’s visit to Vietnam introduced

The Vietnam News Agency Publishing House has introduced to the public a book on the visit by Cuban leader Fidel Castro to the liberated zone in Vietnam's central province of Quang Tri during the war 50 years ago.

The publication of the bilingual book in Vietnamese and Spanish named "Fidel Castro - Vi Viet Nam, nguyen hien dang ca mau! Fidel Castro - Nuestra Sangre Por Vietnam" (Fidel Castro: Our blood for Vietnam) marks the 50th anniversary of the Cuban leader’s visit, reminding people of his famous saying “For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to shed its blood.”

17 people arrested in Cuba for the crime of trafficking for recruitment

Havana, Sep 7 (RHC) Cuban authorities reported Thursday the arrest of 17 individuals during the process of dismantling a human trafficking network that operates to incorporate Cuban citizens into military operations in Ukraine.

Specialists from the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of the Interior detailed in the television space of the Noticiero Estelar that the responsibility of those involved in this criminal network in our country is currently being investigated.

Cuba’s Moncada Barracks attack marked in Ben Tre

The People’s Committee of Ben Tre held a ceremony to mark the 70th anniversary of the attack on Moncada Barracks of Cuba and 40 years since the establishment of Moncada Village in the southern province. Seventy years ago, the attack by young Cuban patriots led by Fidel Castro, the great leader of Cuba, opened up a new stage of development in the Cuban revolution. It brought the just struggle of the Cuban people to victory on January 1, 1959, marking a milestone in the country’s history.

Cuba counters human trafficking operations aimed for military recruitment purposes.

The Ministry of the Interior has detected and it is working to neutralize and dismantle a human trafficking network that operates from Russia in order to incorporate Cuban citizens living there and even some living in Cuba, into the military forces that participate in military operations in Ukraine. Attempts of this nature have been neutralized and criminal proceedings have been initiated against those involved in these activities.
