Ζημιές ύψους 5 δισεκατομμυρίων κατέγραψε η οικονομία της Κούβας μέσα σε ένα χρόνο, λόγω του αποκλεισμού από τις ΗΠΑ, με τον αντίκτυπο να είναι αισθητός σε όλους τους τομείς της οικονομίας, αλλά και στην καθημερινότητα των Κουβανέζων πολιτών. Ο Πρέσβης της Κούβας, κ. Angel Gustavo Suárez Cordero, μιλά στον Κρις Μιχαήλ σε μιαν αποκλειστική συνέντευξη για την εφημερίδα «Η Σημερινή» και εξηγεί ποιες είναι στην πράξη οι επιπτώσεις τού οικονομικού αποκλεισμού που βιώνει η χώρα του και ο λαός της, ενώ αναφέρεται παράλληλα στις διεθνείς πρωτοβουλίες, που στόχο έχουν την άρση του, αλλά και στις σχέσεις Κύπρου - Κούβας, που φέτος κλείνουν 65 χρόνια φιλίας και συνεργασίας.

The University of Nicosia Library and Information Centre, in collaboration with the Embassy of Cuba in Cyprus, hosted a distinguished book presentation event for “Ιστορία της Κούβας, Η πρόκληση του Ζυγού και του Άστρου” ("History of Cuba: The Challenge of the Yoke and the Star") by Professor José Cantón Navarro, published by Almyra in 2023. The event took place at the University of Nicosia’s Library, on Monday October, 7th drawing a remarkable group of guests, esteemed speakers, and an engaged audience.
