Statement by Mr. Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, at the Conference on Disarmament.
Mr. President;
The world’s situation is ever more dangerous and challenging. Now more than ever before, the very survival of the human species is at stake. International peace and security are being threatened by conflicts; predatory and non-conventional wars; acts of aggression and regime change attempts; and an arms race that is dilapidating enormous resources that are indispensable for the sustainable development of our peoples.
Cuba and the European Union hold Third Joint Council
Havana, January 20 (RHC)-- The third Joint Council between Cuba and the European Union (EU), met on Wednesday in a virtual format with the presence of Josep Borrell, high representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and vice president of the European Commission, and the foreign minister of the Republic of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla.
Firm and absolute condemnation of the fraudulent designation of Cuba as a State that sponsors terrorism
Declaration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba condemns, in the strongest and most absolute terms, the fraudulent designation of Cuba as a State that sponsors terrorism which, in a cynical and hypocritical move, has been announced by the government of the United States.
Measures imposed by US Government against FINCIMEX harm the Cuban people.
The inclusion of Fincimex in the list of restricted entities of the US State Department in June last, as well as the Treasury Department’s modifications to the regulations for the control of Cuban assets announced on Friday, October 23, will prevent remittances to Cuba through US companies with general licenses, which will directly harm the Cuban people and their relatives in the US.
Doing so in the middle of a pandemic corroborates the US government’s cynicism, opportunism and contempt for the Cuban people.
