DECLARATION OF THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF CUBA: “THE UNITED STATES STRENGTHENS ITS CAMPAIGN AGAINST CUBA’S INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL COOPERATION”.

The Cuban people and the international community are aware of the dishonest campaign that the government of the United States has launched since 2019 to discredit Cuba’s international medical cooperation; exert pressure on the governments that have asked for it and deprive peoples of these health services.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba denounces that, as part of that offensive, the US government has unleashed an array of pressures and blackmails against the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO).

Cuba elected to PAHO Executive Committee despite US opposition

Washington, September 29 (RHC)-- Cuba was elected to the Executive Committee of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) for a three-year term, with the support of all member states except the United States.

Suriname and Brazil were also elected to that committee.

The United States was once again isolated in its campaign of aggressions and attempts to discredit Cuba.

Cuba to Complete Trials of Soberana 01 Vaccine in Early 2021 against Covid-19.

The Center for State Control of Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices (Cecmed) has approved the submission of a prophylactic drug against the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, developed by the Finlay Institute of Vaccines, for Phase I / II studies. The process will begin on August 24th and end on January 11, 2021, according to the Cuban Public Registry of Clinical Trials website. Cuba should conclude clinical trials of "Soberana 01" - a vaccine candidate against COVID-19 - by early next year.

In the afternoon of July 21, the Bolivian de facto authorities publicly informed that the facility known as “Clínica del Colaborador” (Cooperation Workers’ Clinic), which is owned by the Republic of Cuba and had been raided by law enforcement authorities on November 15, 2019, would be fitted out to assist Bolivian COVID-19 patients.
