Cuban President sent message of condolences to Ethiopia

Adis Ababa, 22 June 2018.  The President of the Council of State and of the Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, H.E. Mr. Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez sent a message of condolences to H.E. Dr. Mulatu Teshome, President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, on the occasion of the grenade attack happened in Meskel Square.

New Director General of MoFA received the Cuban Ambassador

Addis Ababa, June 1st.  The new Director General for the Americas in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Mr. Nebiat Getachew, meet the Cuban Ambassador H.E. Mrs. Vilma Thomas. 

During the encounter, boboth parties reviewed the cooperation projects under implementation, as well as the actions to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the arrival of the first group of Ethiopians to Cuba happened in 1978.

The Director General was accompanied by Mrs. Roza Yerukneh, Director for Latin America.

Meeting between the AU Deputy Chairperson and the Cuban Ambassador

Addis Ababa, June 7, 2018.  The Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mr.  Kwesi Quartey had a working meeting with the Cuban Ambassador to this organziation, H.E. Mr.  Angel Villa.

Both parties reviewed the bilateral links existing between Cuba and the African Union, as well ass the outcomes of the recent meetings held by the Cuban Ambassador with the AU Commissioners for Political Affairs and Human Ressources, Science and Technology, respectively.

The Government of Ethiopia joins the condolences for plane crash in Cuba

The President of Ethiopia, S.E. Mr. Mulatu Teshome sent a message of condolences to the President of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, for the air tragedy that occurred recently in Cuba, in which more than 100 people lost their lives.
 
President Teshome, who expressed his sorrow for the immensity of the human losses caused by this incident, also extended his condolences to the families of the victims of the fateful plane crash and to the people and Government of Cuba.
 

Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission expressed condolences to Cuba

Addis Ababa.  The Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commisiion, H.E. Mr.  Sr. Kwesi Quartey transmitted condolences to the government and people of Cuba on the occasion of the airplane accident happened in Havana recentry.

In his letter, the African leader wished speed recovery to the injured people and ratified the solidarity of the continent with Cuba in this dificult juncture.
