In 2020, Cuba, like the rest of the world, was faced with the singular challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. The US Administration took on the virus as an ally in its merciless non-conventional war; it deliberately and opportunistically stepped up the economic, commercial and financial blockade, bringing about losses for the country in the amount of around 5 billion dollars.
Ambassador of Cuba in Ethiopia continues exchange with the Foreign Ministry of that country
Addis Ababa, May 25, 2021. As part of the systematic dialogue between Cuba and Ethiopia on issues of common interest, the Ambassador of Cuba, Vilma Thomas Ramírez, met with the new Director General of International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, HE Mr. Yoseph Kassaye, at the headquarters of that institution.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, sent a congratulatory message to the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AU), H.E. Mr. Moussa Faki Mahamat, on the occasion of Africa Day, which was delivered at the headquarters of that organization.
