Cuba celebrates Africa Day

Addis Ababa, May 25, 2018.  The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla sent a congratulatory message to the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat.

In the text, the Cuban Foreign Minister ratified the willingness of Cuba to continue its cooperation with Africa within the framework of the objectives of Agenda 2063.

Ethiopian President congratulates the new President of Cuba

The President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Dr. Mulatu Teshome sent a congratulatory message to H.E. Mr. Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel Bermúdez on the occasion of his election as President of the Council of State and of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, expressing  that his country will continue working together to strengthen the relations between Cuba and Ethiopia. 

 

Ethiopian Minister of Health received the Cuban Ambassador

Addis Abeba, 17 may 2018. The Ambassador of Cuba in Ethiopia, H.E. Ms. Vilma Thomas, was received by the new Minister of Health of Ethiopia, Dr. Amir Aman, after his recent appointment as head of that important Ministry. In the meeting, the representatives of both countries, exchanged about the experiences of the Cuban health system, the bilateral cooperation between Cuba and Ethiopia in the health sector and the work of the Cuban cooperators in Ethiopia.

AU Human Ressources Commissioner received the Cuban Ambassador

Addis Ababa, 10 May 2018.  The Commissioner for Human Ressources, Science and Technology of the African Union Commission, H.E. Prof. Sarah M.E. Anyang Agbor received the Cuban Ambassador to the AU, H.E. Mr. Angel Villa.

The meeting served to explore possible areas of cooperation between the two parties taking into account the potencial of Cuba and the regional organization in higher education and science.

In attendance also the Director por HRCT of the Commission, Dr. Mahama Ouedraogo. 

 

Cuban Ambassador to Ethiopia visited the Addis Ababa University

Addis Ababa, May10, 2018.  The Cuban Ambassador to Ethiopia visited the University of Addis Ababa (AAU) where she meet the new President, Professor Tasew Woldehana. During the meeting, both parties considered the opportunity to promote cooperation between that University and similar learning centers of Cuba.

The AAU was established in 1950 and is the oldest and biggest university of Ethiopia.  Today,  48,673 students are enrolled in the center.
