Cuba participates in the important tourism fair World Travel Market London 2024.

Cuba will participate in the prestigious tourism fair World Travel Market London (WTM), which for more than four decades has brought together the most important players in the global tourism sector. This will be yet another opportunity to showcase our country as a safe and attractive destination for the British and international public. The fair will be held at the renowned ExCeL London convention centre between 5 and 7 November.

British firms to attend FIHAV 2024

The fortieth edition of the Havana International Trade Fair FIHAV 2024 will include British companies among its participants. As a result of the broad promotion and dissemination of the event conducted by the Cuban Embassy in the UK, the trade fair will be attended by British businesspeople seeking to explore business opportunities and take part in the Seventh Investment Forum.

Cuban sports coaches returned to Barbados

The National Sports Council (CND) of Barbados approved the extension of existing cooperation agreement with the Cuban company Cubadeportes S.A., which made it possible for a first group of Cuban coaches returned to the country to assist in various sports disciplines. Sports trainers Angel Manuel Marín (Field Hockey), Mijail Santos (Cycling), Felipe Álvarez (Boxing) and Julio Alberto Madrazo (Volleyball), were met at the airport by Cuban Ambassador, Francisco Fernandez, accompanied by Mona Alleyne and Marcia Trotman, NSC´s representatives.

Chancellor Maxine McClean chaired the Barbados delegation to the VII ACS Summit in Cuba.

The Honorable Senator Maxine McClean, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados, led the delegation of her country to the Seventh Summit of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), which was also composed of the Permanent Secretary, Cecile Humphrey, the Ambassador to CARICOM, Robert Morris, and the officer Unit Caribbean - CARICOM, Corey Archer, who in turn had an active participation in the discussion of the documents during the Senior Officials Meeting, held on June 2nd.

Cuba participates in WTO Regional Trade Policy Course for the Caribbean

Cuba was represented by Marta Castillo, an official of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, in Regional Trade Policy Course for the Caribbean countries sponsored by the World Trade Organization (WTO), which took place in Barbados from April 3 to May 27, 2016 with the attendance of delegates from more than 25 countries in the region.

World Day of Prayer in Barbados devoted to Cuba

World Day of Prayer was devoted to Cuba by several churches of different religious affiliation on March 4th 2016. At least St Philip´s Parish Church, Speightstown Methodist Church and St John´s Church have done a Worship Service, which was prepared by the Cuban WDP Committee entitled “Receive children. Receive me”. To this purpose, the coordinators of these activities, Sisters Joyce Sealy, Peggy Wilkes and Marcia Miller, respectively, visited the Cuban Embassy in Barbados to get some information and national symbols for the contextualization of the service.

Prime Minister and Foreign Minister shared activities of the 50th Anniversary of Independence with the Diplomatic Corps.

The Right Honorable Prime Minister, Freundel J. Stuart, and the Honorable Senator Maxine McClean, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, accompanied by other senior government officials and the Barbadian Foreign Ministry made a breakfast meeting with the diplomatic corps in the country in Accra Beach Hotel, located precisely in the constituency that the Prime Minister represents in Parliament. During the activity was shared with diplomatic representatives of different countries planned events to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Independence in the coming months.
