Cuba-Guyana official talks
Guyana, Georgertown, September 18, 2023. The Prime Minister of Cuba Manuel Marrero Cruz held official talks with his counterpart of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, the Honorable Mr. Mark Anthony Phillips, within the framework of the G Summit sessions -77. At the meeting, Marrero and Phillips ratified their willingness to continue developing bilateral cooperation in the spheres of health, agriculture, and others of common interest; as well as strengthening economic and commercial ties between their nations.
Cuba will collaborate with Guyana for the production of honey
Guyana. Georgetown September 6, 2023. The President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, announced on September 1, within the framework of the Annual National Conference of Toshaos (Amerindian Chiefs), the visit of four Cuban specialists who will offer training with the purpose of expanding honey production. “…we want to create a common brand of honey that is associated with the Guyana rainforest and can be marketed as a specialty product…” President Ali said.
Regional Center in Guyana for the Stimulation of the Development of Children and Youth with Special Educational Needs receives the Ambassador of Cuba.
Guyana.Georgetown, August 28th, 2023. The visit was made in the company of the Honorable Minister of Education of Guyana, Priya Manickchand. The Guyanese Minister and Ambassador Jorge Francisco Soberon Luis, discussed the services offered by the Center to Guyana and the Caribbean and plans to expand them. Collaboration with Cuba to provide Spanish teachers to the Guyana educational system was also discussed. After the meeting, a tour was held, where visitors interacted with Center staff.
The President of the Private Sector Commission received the Ambassador of Cuba
Guyana, Georgetown. August 25th , 2023. The President of the Private Sector Commission of Guyana, Mr. Komal Singh received the Ambassador of Cuba to Guyana, Jorge Francisco Soberón Luis. During the meeting, they assessed the opportunities for investment and business between both countries and the will to strengthen the economic, commercial, and financial ties between Guyana and Cuba
