President of the Parliament of Cuba, Esteban Lazo Hernandez, met with Thomas Tavares-Finson, President of the Senate of Jamaica Press Note by National Assembly of People´s Power of Cuba

During last Monday´s morning, Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of the National Assembly of People´s Power (ANPP), held a cordial meeting with Thomas Tavares-Finson, president of the Senate of Jamaica, who travelled to Cuba following an invitation to participate at the official unveiling of Jose Marti´s equestrian statue in Havana.

Cuban Ambassador meets with Regional Coordinator for United Nations Environment Programme

KINGSTON, JAMAICA, January 27th, 2018. Cuban Ambassador to Jamaica, Ines Fors Fernández,  welcomed last Thursday, January 25th, the Coordinator of the United Nations Regional  Programme, Dr. Lorna Iniss. 

Dr. Iniss offered a detailed explanation on the fundamental objectives of her office that directs the protection of the environment in the region of the Caribbean. Dr. Iniss highlighted as well the renowned efforts by Cuba in this area which makes the country a referral to the region and the rest of the world. 

Prime Minister of Jamaica receives Cuban Ambassador

KINGTSTON, JAMAICA, January 22, 2018.  Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holnes, welcomed the Cuban Ambassador, Ines Fors Fernandez in courtesy visit.

During the cordial meeting, the Prime Minister highlighted the ties that unite Cuba and Jamaica, which started long before the date diplomatic relations were establish, 8th  December 1972. 

Holness referred with pride that his country was refuge to many Cuban patriots that fought for independence like Jose Marti, Antonio Maceo and Mariana Grajales. 

Permanent Secretary of Education of Jamaica met with First Deputy Minister of Culture of Cuba

KINGSTON, JAMAICA, January 17, 2018.-  Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information of Jamaica, Deanroy Bernard, welcomed this Tuesday afternoon, January 16th, First Deputy Minister of Culture of Cuba, María Elena Salgado Cabrera, who carries out a work visit to this Caribbean island. 

During the cordial meeting at the venue of this ministry, both parts ratified the willingness of both governments to continue strengthening the bilateral ties and the efforts to increase the current cooperation.

First Deputy Minister of Culture starts visits to Jamaica

KINGSTON, JAMAICA, January 16th, 2018. First Deputy Minister of Culture of Cuba, María Elena Salgado, started a four-day visit to Jamaica, this Monday, January 15th.

The visit has the purpose to assess the path of cooperation projects between the two countries and to identify new reas for bilateral collaboration in the sphere of culture and artistic training.

First Deputy Minister of Culture will meet with ministers of Culture and Education of Jamaica as well as with artistic education institutions and academic centres.
