Minister of Health of Jamaica expresses his sympathies to the Cuban Ambassador for the consequences of the tornado that struck Havana last Sunday
Kingston, Jamaica, 29 January 2018. The Minister of Health of Jamaica, Hon. Dr. Christopher Tufton, expressed his grief and the condolences of his government for the consequences of the tornado that struck Havana last Sunday January 27th, in a letter sent to the Cuban Ambassador.
He also stated the commitment of Jamaica to help in any way possible to alleviate the impact of this natural disaster.
Cuba celebrates in Jamaica the 166th anniversary of the birth of José Martí
Kingston, Jamaica, 28 January 2019. Today at 6 o'clock in the afternoon, a brief but heartfelt ceremony was held at the Cuban Embassy in Jamaica to commemorate the 166th anniversary of the birth of Cuban National Hero, José Martí.
The ceremony was chaired by Ambassador Inés Fors Fernández, and was attended by members of the State Mission of Cuba, Cubans living in Jamaica and friends from the Jamaica-Cuba solidarity movement.
President of the Senate acknowledges the work carried out by Cuban collaborators in Jamaica

During the opening ceremony of the International Seminar on Cardiology held today at the Heart Institute of the Caribbean, based in Kingston, Jamaica, Senate President Thomas Tavares-Finson praised the work carried out by Cuban health professionals who render their services in this sister Caribbean nation. Mr. Tavares-Finson highlighted the commendable contribution that Cuban collaborators have made to the Jamaican public health system for more than twenty years.
Cuban Ambassador meets with Member of Parliament, Opposition Spokesman on Health
Kingston, Jamaica.15 January 2019. Dr. Dayton Campbell, Member of Parliament and Opposition Spokesman on Health, visited the Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica today, where he was received by Ambassador Inés Fors Fernández.
Dr. Campbell and Ambassador Fors talked about the epidemiological situation in Jamaica –which currently suffers an outbreak of dengue hemorrhagic fever– and the collaboration provided by Cuban specialists in health matters.
