I hereby would like to express to you my most sincere congratulations on the occasion of the International Women's Day.

We live a decisive moment for the rights of women. The historical and structural inequalities that have given rise to oppression and discrimination continue to grow at levels of concern.

Jamaica will be present at the Havana World Music Festival

The two young men who will represent Jamaica in the VI edition of the Havana World Festival Music.

Kingston, Jamaica, 26 February 2019. Ms. Olayinka Jacobs-Bonnick, Director of the British Council Caribbean introduced the Ambassador of Cuba in Jamaica, Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, to the two young men who will attend, on behalf of the Caribbean island, the VI edition of the Havana World Festival Music, to be held in Havana, between March 21 and 23 this year.

The young men study at the Alpha Institute, a Jamaican institution specializing in artistic education, and are part of the Backstage to the Future program sponsored by the British Council.

Kingston, Jamaica, 19 February 2019. The Honorable Pearnel Charles, President of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Jamaica, received at the headquarters of that legislative body the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, H.E. Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández.

In a cordial atmosphere, the Cuban diplomat and the experienced Jamaican political leader acknowledged the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between Cuba and Jamaica and exchanged on various topics of regional and international interest.
