Cuba’s science and solidarity in favour of the health of the Jamaican people

Cuban professionals who render their services at the Public Hospital and other health facilities in this capital officially opened the Scientific Forums organized by the Cuban Medical Mission in Jamaica. For several weeks, other Cuban health collaborators will continue holding these events in other regions of the Jamaican geography.
The Ministry of Education of Jamaica acknowledges the Cuban collaborators’ work in that sector
Kingston, Jamaica, 29 August 2019. The official ceremony to welcome the Cuban teachers who arrived in Jamaica on 27 August was held in this capital with a large participation of representatives of the Ministry of Education of Jamaica.
Doctor Sharon Anderson-Morgan, representing the Ministry, extended the gratitude of the Jamaican authorities to Cuban teachers, highlighted the importance of the work they carry out and commended the contribution of the Cuban Education Brigade to training at different levels of education in this Caribbean nation.
The Cuban Ambassador to Jamaica received the Director of the UNESCO Regional Office for Culture
Kingston, Jamaica, 29 August 2019. Dr. Katherine Muller-Marin, director of the UNESCO Regional Office for Culture in Latin America and the Caribbean, paid a courtesy call on the Cuban Ambassador to Jamaica, H.E Mrs. Ines Fors Fernández.
During the meeting, held in an atmosphere of cordiality and respect, Dr. Muller-Marin updated the Cuban diplomat on the work carried out by the said Office, including details on some programs, projects and initiatives they promote in the field of culture.
Cuba and Jamaica expand their cooperation on the education sector

The history of Cuba’s solidarity and cooperation in the educational field became manifest this time with the arrival in Jamaica of a new group of Cuban teachers who will teach subjects related to the exact and natural sciences, and Spanish language, at schools throughout this Caribbean nation.
