Cuba-Jamaica II Migratory Talks to be held in Kingston

JAMAICA, 2nd November, 2018.- Next 6th and 7th November, 2018, the II Migratory Talks between the Republic of Cuba and Jamaica will be held in this capital.

During the meeting, the parts are expected to exchange on migratory issues of common interest, to explore mechanisms for cooperation that contribute to guarantee a regular, orderly and secure migratory flow, as well as to continue with the ongoing process of negotiation  of the draft Memorandum of Understanding in this area. 

Parliament of Jamaica adopts new resolution against US blockade

Parlamento Jamaica aprueba moción vs Bloqueo a Cuba

KINGSTON, JAMAICA, 31st October, 2018.- The Parliament of Jamaica adopted unanimously and for the tenth consecutive occasion, a resolution to reject the criminal blockade the United States has imposed to Cuba during almost six decades.

The text of the resolution, presented by the Attorney General, Marlene Malahoo Forte, stresses that the economic, commercial and financial blockade constitutes the main obstacle to Cuba´s economic and social development and represents a violation of the International Law.

RESOLUTION OF THE PEOPLES NATIONAL PARTY ON THE CUBAN EMBARGO

WHEREAS the rapprochement that has been developed between the Cuban Administration and the Obama Administration of the USA has come to an end

AND WHEREAS the current authorities in the USA have renewed the unilateral sanctions on Cuba

AND WHEREAS this constitutes a point of friction within the region and with potential for increased conflict and disharmony within the region

Statement vs Blockade from the Jamaica Friends with Cuba Association

Friends of Cuba, an affiliate with the Jamaica Cuba Friendship Association, once again stands with the People of Cuba in expressing our solidarity in calling for the lifting of the inhumane Blockade against the people and their sovereign nation, the Republic of Cuba. It is absolutely beyond comprehension, that the United States of America is continuing with this outdated criminal imposition to interfere in the governance of a sovereign nation. We stand with the many solidarity movements and progressive countries around the world in condemning this hateful crime against the people of Cuba, and in calling for an end to the Blockade.  

Solidarity Brigade Praises Cuban Courage and Condemns US Blockade

(Prensa Latina) Dominican activist Pablo Castillo lauded today the courage of Cubans for the projection and defense of a more just society, despite the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on Cuba by the United States. 

The member of the 25th Latin American and Caribbean Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba told Prensa Latina that 'the Cubans, constantly besieged by U.S. imperialism, reflect the courage and perseverance of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro' and the heroes who fought for the independence of the nation.
