Statement of the Jamaica-Cuba Friendship Association on the recent sanctions against Cuba
The Jamaica-Cuba Friendship Association joins with the rest of progressive humanity, in condemning the recent sanctions against our sister country Cuba, as a desperate attempt by the most bellicose and greedy sections of United States government, to try and asphyxiate a 60-year revolution which has been beacon of hope for all of us who struggle for a better world.
Cuba and Jamaica celebrate the 58th anniversary of the Victory of Playa Girón in Westmoreland
Westmoreland, Jamaica, 13 April 2019. For the twelfth occasion, the Westmoreland Chapter of the Jamaica Cuba Friendship Association organized the national act in celebration of the Anniversary of the Victory of Playa Girón, this Saturday April 13th, in the afternoon.
The Petersfield Institute served as the venue for the event, chaired by the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, Berthel Moore, Mayor of Savanna-La-Mar, and Mathias Brown, President of the Chapter.
Cuba was present in the Spanish Immersion Day
Kingston, Jamaica, 3 April 2019. The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, attended the Spanish Immersion Day, held at the Tom Redcam public library in the capital of Jamaica.
The Honourable Alando Terrelonge, MP, Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information, had a brief exchange of views with the Cuban diplomat and took the opportunity to thank Cuba for its cooperation in the educational sector in Jamaica.
