Minister of Local Government of Jamaica praises Cuba's expertise in disaster preparedness
Kingston, Jamaica, December 14th, 2017. As an first level expertise in the region and the world qualified the Minister of Local Government and Community Development of Jamaica, Desmond A. McKenzie, the preparedness and response of Cuba to natural disasters which are every day more common in the Caribbean area.
Cuba in the Caribbean: a compromise of solidarity
On December 8th, 1972, four Caribbean nations (Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago) established diplomatic relations with Cuba, and during the first Summit CARICOM-Cuba, held in Havana in 2002, it was agreed to celebrate this day the relations between the organization and the Greater of the Antilles.
Minister of Science, Technology and Energy of Jamaica meets with Cuban Ambassador
KINGSTON, JAMAICA, 4 de diciembre de 2017. El Ministro de Ciencia, Tecnología y Energía de Jamaica, Andrew Wheatley, recibió a la Embajadora de Cuba en esta nación caribeña, Inés Fors Fernández.
En cordial encuentro, celebrado en la sede de este ministerio, también participó la Secretaria Permanente, Hillary Alexander.
Tras intercambio de saludos y deseos de éxitos a Embajadora cubana, ambas partes dialogaron sobre el potencial que existe para desarrollar las relaciones bilaterales en estas esferas e incrementar los intercambios para beneficio común.
Minister of Health of Jamaica praises important work by Cuban health collaborators
Kingston, Jamaica, November 30th, 2017. As an important and noble task with a tremendous social impact, qualified the Minister of Health of Jamaica, Dr. Christopher Tufton, the work carried out by the Cuban Medical Brigade.
During a courtesy visit by the Ambassador of Cuba, Inés Fors Fernández, the Jamaican official praised also the importance of Operation Miracle in Jamaica, a program within which thousands Jamaican patients have recovered their sight.
President of the Senate meets with Cuban Ambassador
KINGSTON, JAMAICA, November 28th, 2017. The President of the Senate of Jamaica, Tomas Tavares Finson, welcomed, in courtesy visit, the Cuban Ambassador, Inés Fors Fernández.
The cordial meeting, held at the venue of the Parliament in Kingston, served to ratify the willingness of both parliaments and governments to continue strengthening the bilateral relations.
