Solidarity movement with Cuba in Jamaica demands an end to the blockade and Cuba's removal from the list of state sponsors of terrorism

Kingston, 30 September 2025. Members of the solidarity movement with Cuba in Jamaica and the Left Alliance for National Democracy and Socialism (LANDS) staged a new journey of ‘Bridges of Love’ on the last Sunday of the month.

In the morning session, representatives of different organisations gathered for a giant photo against the blockade in Centric Emancipation Park in Kingston. The initiative aims to take the denunciation of this genocidal policy to emblematic places throughout Jamaica.

Medal of Friendship awarded to dear Jamaican friend Trevor Brown.

Kingston, 18 September 2025. In the presence of representatives of organisations that integrate the Solidarity Movement, the Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica, Fermín Quiñones Sánchez, awarded the Medal of Friendship to Trevor Brown, a dear friend of the Cuban people.

Honour to whom honour is due.

Kingston, 17 September 2025. In a private and emotional ceremony held at the Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica, the Medal of Friendship was presented to the Honourable Portia Simpson Miller, former Prime Minister of Jamaica.

Ambassador Fermín Quiñones Sánchez presented the award, approved by Presidential Decree at the proposal of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), to her husband, Mr. Errald Miller.
