Jamaica celebrates National Rebellion Day
Kingston, 25 July 2025. Convened by the Cuban state mission in Jamaica, the Movement of Solidarity with Cuba and the Association of Cubans Residing in Jamaica (ACRJ), a ceremony was held on the afternoon of 25 July to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks.
Cuban delegation denounces US blockade policy before the International Seabed Authority
Kingston, 24 July 2025. The Cuban delegation participating in the 30th Session of the Assembly of the International Seabed Authority (ISA) denounced the negative impact of the United States government's blockade against the island, describing it as archaic and immoral.
STATEMENT BY THE ASSOCIATION OF CUBANS RESIDING IN JAMAICA ON THE OCCASION OF THE 72ND ANNIVERSARY OF THE ATTACKS ON THE MONCADA AND CARLOS MANUEL DE CESPEDES BARRACKS
On 26 July 1953, a group of young people from the Cuban People's Party (Orthodox) stormed the Guillermón Moncada Barracks in the city of Santiago de Cuba, capital of the province of Oriente, which was the country's second military stronghold; and the Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks, located in the city of Bayamo in the centre of the province of Oriente, to hinder the arrival of reinforcements to Santiago de Cuba.
Mission achieved: group of Health collaborators in Jamaica finish their mission
Kingston, 17 July 2025. The Cuban Ambassador to Jamaica, Fermín Quiñones Sánchez, bid farewell this morning at Norman Manley International Airport to a group of Cuban Medical Brigade collaborators who successfully completed their mission in Jamaica.
During the exchange prior to boarding the plane, the Cuban diplomat recognised the important work carried out by the collaborators since their arrival as part of the bilateral cooperation programme in the field of health, as worthy exponents of the humanist and solidarity principles of the Cuban Revolution.
STATEMENT RELATED TO THE PRESIDENTIAL MEMORANDUM ON UNITED STATES SECURITY AGAINST THE PEOPLE OF CUBA
We strongly denounce and condemn the executive order issued by the United States administration on 30 June 2025, which is an amended reissue of Presidential National Security Memorandum No. 5 against the Cuban people and society.
This document seeks to expand and reinforce the criminal and ruthless policy of economic, commercial, and financial blockade, which is an economic war by the United States government against the people and government of Cuba.
