Northern Caribbean University visits Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica

Kingston, 3 June 2025. Students and lecturers from the Department of Humanities at the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Behavioural Sciences at Northern Caribbean University, based in Mandeville, visited the Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica. The activity was part of the Spanish language immersion exercise they are undertaking as part of their academic curriculum.

Cuba, the Caribbean and Africa, united by history

Kingston, 27 May 2025. The Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica, Fermín Quiñones Sánchez, participated in the Conference in celebration of Africa Day organised by the PJ Patterson Institute for the Africa-Caribbean Advocacy. The event, held at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, had as its central theme: From ‘us’ and “them” to ‘Ini’, reasoning on Pan-African liberation and reparation.

Kingston, 26 May 2025. Diplomats and staff of the Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica and the more than 400 members of the Medical and Educational Brigades working in this territory intervened in the Meteoro 2025 exercise to deal with disaster situations.
