We were deeply moved by the unfortunate fire in Matanzas, which affected dozens of Cuban brothers.

We express our great sympathy and solidarity with them and their families, and we affirm our confidence in the friendly Cuban people and in their capacity to overcome any adversity or difficulty they are going through.

Cuba expresses solidarity with victims of the Beirut Port explosion

The head of the Cuban mission in Lebanon, Jorge León, today expressed his solidarity with the victims and injured of the explosion at the Port of Beirut, exactly two years after the tragedy.

Together with Latin American representatives and the rest of the diplomatic corps accredited in this capital, León accompanied family members in the minute of silence ceremony convened in the vicinity of the port by the United Nations.

Mr. Amin Salam, Minister of Economy and Trade of Lebanon, received the Cuban head of mission, Jorge León Cruz, who handed him a letter of invitation extended by Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, to participate in the Havana International Fair, FIHAV 2022, to be held in Cuba between November 14 and 18.

Representatives of the Friendship Association, of Cuban Residents, of the League of Palestinian and Lebanese Graduates, as well as of the Latin American José Martí organization reiterated here today their solidarity with Cuba.

In the context of the 69th anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, Cuban friends reaffirmed their support and commitment to the people and government of the Caribbean island.
