Patent Liberian-Cuban Friendship Group, once again, petition to Nobel Peace Prize for Cuban medical collaborators.

Monrovia, June 24, 2020 - Today, through the "Nobel Peace Prize For Cuban Doctors" website, the Liberia-Cuba friendship group reiterated its support for the proposal that the Nobel Peace Prize be awarded to the Henry Reeve International Contingent of Doctors Specialized in Disaster Situations and Serious Epidemics.

Monrovia, June 17, 2020 - The Liberia-Cuba solidarity group once again condemned the economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba and rejected the US measures against seven companies on the Caribbean island that were included on the State Department's "List of Restricted Cuban Entities".

Cuban Embassy in Liberia evokes Maceo and Che on the anniversaries of their birthdays.

By chance, they were born on the same date, June 14, although in two different centuries. On this day, 83 years apart, Major General Antonio Maceo was born in 1845 and Major Ernesto Guevara in 1928. One in Santiago de Cuba; the other, in the Argentine city of Rosario. 

Tradition makes this date a day to unite the legacy of two guides, to make the thoughts of these two heroes our own and to search for the essence of their revolutionary thoughts.

Cuban Head of Mission participates in virtual meeting with President of Liberia.

Monrovia, June 10, 2020 - Today, the Head of the Cuban Diplomatic Mission in Monrovia, Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera, participated in a virtual meeting with the President of the Republic of Liberia, Dr. George M. Weah.

The meeting was convened by the Liberian Foreign Ministry, which invited the members of the diplomatic corps accredited in the African country.

The topic to be discussed was the impact of the COVID-19 in Liberia and the challenges that the current situation imposes on us.

Cuban diplomat in Liberia appreciates support against U.S. blockade.

Monrovia, May 25 (Prensa Latina) The Chargé d'Affaires of the Cuban Embassy in Liberia, Mercedes Martínez Herrera, today thanked Africa for its support in her country's struggle against the commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States.

In an interview granted to the Liberian newspaper Daily Observer on the occasion of the celebration of Africa Day, Martinez Herrera also highlighted the fraternal ties between the continent and Cuba.

Monrovia, May 26, 2020 - The Liberia-Cuba Friendship Group made public, through an official statement, its support for the international campaign to nominate Cuban Medical Brigade Henry Reeve for the Nobel Peace Prize. In this way, it echoed the diverse voices that in different countries of the world make the request to grant this laurel to the Cuban medical collaborators who distribute solidarity through their health services, and today fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in all continents.

Monrovia, May 25, 2020 - In an interview granted by the Cuban Chargé d'Affaires in Liberia, Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera, she referred to the role of Cuban solidarity in African lands and the commitment of the work team of the Cuban Embassy in that country.

She also evaluated the presence of Cuba in the heart of the African peoples and reviewed the historical footprint left by the Cuban doctors in West African lands during their fight against the deadly Ebola virus.
