Liberian Foreign Minister receives Cuban Head of Mission

Monrovia, October 22, 2024 - At the headquarters of the Liberian Foreign Ministry, Foreign Minister Sara Beysolow Nyanti received the Cuban Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martínez Herrera.

During the fraternal meeting, where mutual respect prevailed, the good state of diplomatic relations between the two countries was confirmed.

The Cuban diplomat conveyed to the Chancellor a greeting on behalf of Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla. She also reiterated Cuba's commitment to continue supporting, to the extent of its possibilities, the Liberian government and people in their social development projects, particularly the training of young professionals and the strengthening of the health system.

For her part, Minister Nyanti expressed her gratitude for Cuba's willingness, which was vital during the Ebola epidemic and which she believes can be deepened not only in the health and capacity building sectors, but also in other areas identified by both governments for the benefit of both countries.

It was an opportunity to review other aspects of bilateral relations and exchange views on the current international political scenario.

On the Liberian side, the meeting was attended by the Assistant Minister for American Affairs, Christiana Konneh.
