Nicosia, Cyprus, March 11, 2026.—The The Cuban ambassador to Cyprus, Rubén Pino Martínez, was received this Wednesday, March 11, at the Strovolos municipality headquarters by its top authority in the Mayor's Office, Mr. Stavros Stavrinidis.
The cordial meeting made it possible to discuss mutual interests between both parties to establish new proposals for joint collaboration and continue building cultural bridges between Cuba and Cyprus, in what constitutes—after Limassol—the second largest municipality on this Eastern Mediterranean island and the largest municipality in the capital area with more than 70,000 inhabitants.
Stavros Stavrinidis and Pino Martínez recalled the positive actions and initiatives carried out in this territory, with notable participation of Cuban artists residing in Cyprus, during previous editions of the Strovolos Municipal Christmas Festival or in the experience "Voices of America: A Journey through Latin American Literature,” led by Cuban writers as part of the 9th edition of the Nicosia Book Festival, where Latin American literature and, particularly, Cuban literature were the focus of the event held at the Acropolis Park in Strovolos.
