Pretoria, March 18, 2026.- These days, solidarity with Cuba in South Africa is stronger than ever, given the current situation our country is facing as a result of the ongoing threats from Donald Trump’s U.S. administration. Cuban Ambassador Fakri Rodríguez Pinelo, who attended the meeting, expressed his gratitude for the initiatives of support and friendship toward Cuba, especially during these difficult times.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, Ambassador Z. Levent Gümrükçü, held a cordial meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba accredited to Türkiye.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the current state of bilateral relations, highlighting the friendly nature and mutual respect that characterize them. They also discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation in areas of common interest.

The U.S publicly threatens Cuba, almost daily, with overthrowing the constitutional order by force. And it uses an outrageous pretext: the severe constraints of the weakened economy that they have attacked and sought to isolate for more than six decades.

They intend to and announce plans to take over the country, its resources, its properties, and even the very economy they seek to suffocate in order to force us to surrender.

Ambassador Inés Fors Fernández, delivered a high-level lecture to participants of Course 28-2025/2026 at the National Defence College on 17 March 2026. Her lecture focused on the panorama of contemporary Cuba, in particular, the situation that the country is experiencing due to the effects of the US blockade against the Island and the resilience of the Cuban people in the face of this challenge, economic and financial war imposed for more than 60 years.

The new diplomatic officials, Ambassador Yadirys Echenique Paz and Consul Ariel Pazos Ortiz, welcomed Dr. Malachy Dottin, coordinator of the Committee of Graduates in Cuba, at the Cuban Embassy in Grenada.

The Cuban government announced a set of decisions intended to broaden the participation of Cubans residing abroad in the country's economy, including their access to private businesses, productive projects, and the national financial system.
