The US State Department announced today the decision to allow, as from March 19 this year, the filing of lawsuits before US courts under Title III of the Helms-Burton Act only against Cuban companies included in the List of Restricted Entities issued by that government on November of 2017, which was updated one year later.
The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of the Republic of Ghana, Alhaji Mohammad Habibu Tijani, received at the Ministry headquarters the Ambassador of Cuba, Pedro Luis Despaigne González.
The Deputy Minister highlighted the historic relationship between Ghana and Cuba, and recalled the work carried out by Cuban health collaborators in his country, and especially in Yendi, his hometown.
Counselor Dennis Casares Benítez held a meeting at the premises of the Embassy of Cuba in Egypt with Tarek El KHOULY, an Egyptian representative member of the Committee for Foreign Relations of the Parliament.
The fraternal meeting explored alternatives to strengthen relations between the parliaments of both countries and to cooperate in different areas of common interest.
The Egyptian representative congratulated the Cuban people for the recent approval of its Constitution and expressed his admiration for Fidel Castro and the Cuban Revolution.

CUBA says it’s been long since Cubans decided to frustrate every US attempt to govern their country’s destiny. Havana on Tuesday advised the US State Department to end the practice of interfering in internal affairs and the electoral or voting processes of other nations.
Ottawa, March 1, 2019.- On the morning of Thursday, February 28, Cuban Ambassador Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, gave an interview to Mr. Réjean Bourdeau from Québec French-language La Presse newspaper, at the Embassy of Cuba in Canada.
During the interview, the Ambassador Vidal Ferreiro commented on her most recent official visit to Québec City. She highlighted the traditional positive ties between Cuba and Québec —which have been consolidated after the signing in 2016 of the Joint Declaration between the Ministry of International Relations and La Francophonie of Québec and the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment and the opening of the Québec Office in Havana, in 2017— and referred to the existing potentials to broaden these relations in various areas.
The Cuban ambassador Alexander Pellicer Moraga, had a useful meeting with Hani Chemaitelly, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of Lebanon.
During the meeting they talked about bilateral subjects and about the situation in Middle East and Latin America. Chemaitelly ratified his country's support for Cuba in the fight against the US blockade.
