SAINT VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE 35TH INTERNATIONAL HAVANA FAIR (FIHAV 35)

The Cuban Ambassador to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Vilma Reyes Valdespino, was received by Sandy Peters-Philips, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Commerce of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

During the meeting, the Permanent Secretary informed that the Vincentian Company "East Caribbean Metals / Plastic.” will represent the country again, in the 35th edition of the International Fair of Havana (FIHAV), to be held from October 30 to November 3 this year 2017.

Strengthening of sports cooperation ties between Cuba and Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar. October 18, 2017. Mr. Ts. Sharavjamts, President of the Physical Culture and Sport Authority, Implementary Agency of the Government of Mongolia held a meeting with Cuban Ambassador Raúl Delgado Concepción this morning, where aspects related to cooperation in sports between the two countries were discussed. With the signing of a Bilateral Cooperation Agreement between INDER and this implementing agency in 2001, the first sports collaboration actions were started for the recruitment of Cuban boxing coaches who worked in Mongolia in different periods of time.

Cuban Ambassador to Kenya was received by the CEO of the Nation Media Group.

Nairobi, October 17. Joe Muganda, chief executive of the Nation Media Group, received today in Nairobi Ernesto Gómez Díaz, Cuba's ambassador to Kenya, who paid him a courtesy call.

During the visit to the important group, Muganda acknowledged Cuba's valuable contribution to the African continent's struggle against colonialism and highlighted the historical dimension of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.

The blockade of United States against Cuba is condemned in Sri Lanka

SRI LANKA, October 17, 2017. - Convened by the Frontline Socialist Party, a large group of friends of Cuba gathered today, in front of the headquarters of the United States Embassy in Colombo, demanding the immediate lifting of the blockade imposed on Cuba by the US government, for more than 50 years.

Presents also delivered a written notification to the US Embassy demanding that the US government put an end to the unjust policy of blockade against Cuba, while expressing their solidarity with the Caribbean island.

Cuban Ambassador meets Philippine vice minister of foreign relations

Cuban Ambassador to the Philippines, Ibete Fernandez Hernandez, held a meeting with Philippine Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, Ambassador Enrique Manalo.

Mr. Manalo conveyed to the Cuban ambassador, on behalf of his the government, condolences for the damages that caused to Cuba the Hurricane Irma. It also expressed its willingness to develop bilateral relations and to increase coordination on multilateral issues.

The Philippines ratifies its traditional support for the Cuban cause against the blockade.

Manila, October 17- The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs of Philippines, Ambassador Enrique Manalo, expressed his country's opposition to the economic, financial and commercial blockade of the United States and acknowledged the negative effects that this causes to the development of commercial relations between Cuba and the rest of the world.

NASSAU, October 16th, 2017.-The Grand Prix of the International Cultural Festival of The Bahamas, held in Nassau on 14th  and 15th October, was once again awarded to Cuba,  only a few days before the celebration of the Cuban National Culture Day.

Besides, the Cuban artists Silvia Irene Blanco and Iracema Arias were awarded individually with the prizes within the Caribbean region for their guaracheras made out of paper and the sample of papier maché, respectively.
