New Delhi, February 10, 2016. In coordination with the Embassy of Cuba, the public school in India that is named after José Martí celebrated the 163 anniversary of his birth with a political-cultural gala attended  by H.E. Mr. Oscar Martinez Cordovés, Ambassador of Cuba and Mrs. Parmila Tokas, a member of the Indian Parliament as guests of honor.

Wellington, February 10, 2016. At his offices in Parliament House, the Right Honourable David Carter, Speaker of the House, received on a courtesy call the Ambassador of Cuba, H.E. Mr. Mario Alzugaray, occasion in which both exchanged cordially on various topics, highlighting the interest of each side in further promoting relations between the two countries.

The Governor General of New Zealand, The Right Hon. Sir Jerry Mateparae, expressed satisfaction with the good moment in relations with Cuba and confirmed the interest of his country in increasing bilateral ties. His remarks took place during a brief meeting with the Ambassador of Cuba, Mario Alzugaray, on the occasion of the commemoration of Waitangi Day.

New Delhi, February 3, 2016.- The President of India, H.E. Mr. Pranab Mukherjee today received the Credentials Letters of H.E. Mr. Oscar I. Martinez Cordovés as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to this country of Southeast Asia.

THE BAHAMAS, January 31, 2016.- The Ambassador of Cuba in The Bahamas Ismara Vargas Walter,  attended as a special guest at a Round Table Conference for businessmen and private investors, held in the Caribbean country.

The meeting, held at the Lyford Cay Club and organized by the DELTEC group was part of interesting presentations on the investments made today in various fields of technology, robotics, space industry, as well as an update of the current world market situation and areas with high yield potential for private investors.

The IV CELAC Summit Meeting recently held in Quito, Ecuador, approved several relevant documents to our nations. In addition to the substantial and comprehensive Final Declaration, this time it was adopted a Special Declaration on the commitment to advance in multilateral negotiations on Nuclear Disarmament. Its first point was precisely to consolidate Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, as it was proclaimed at the II Summit held in Havana in January 2014. India, January 28, 2016. This afternoon took place at the Embassy of Cuba to this country, a heartfelt ceremony of tribute to the National Hero of Cuba in the 163 anniversary of his birth.

The Cuban Ambassador designated Oscar Martinez Cordovés and three young Cuban pioneers spoke a few words in which was stressed the significance of the thought of José Martí, its universal scope, as well as its successful revolutionary and literary work.

THE BAHAMAS, January 27, 2016. - Mr. Quintin LaRoda, Vice President of the Union of Teachers of Grand Bahama was received at the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba by the Ambassador of Cuba to The Bahamas, Ismara Vargas Walter.

During the meeting, Mr. LaRoda highlighted the work carried out by Cuban teachers on the island of Grand Bahama (Freeport) and the degree of acceptance by the Bahamian population.
