Cuba in Norway

A delegation from Norway attends International Seminar for Peace and the Abolition of Foreign Military Bases, in Guantánamo

Oslo, May 6, 2024. After having participating in Havana at the International Meeting in Solidarity with Cuba and against Imperialism, Ingrid M. Schanche, leader of "Norway For Peace"; Ahmed S. Al-Saedi, member of the International Committee of the Red Party, and Paulius Eidukas, member of the Communist Party of Norway and the Norway-Cuba Friendship Association, traveled to the province of Guantánamo, to take part at the VIII International Seminar for Peace and the Abolition of Foreign Military Bases.

With the aim of promoting tourism, facilitating the flow of travelers and continuing to promote relations of friendship and cooperation with the People's Republic of China, it has been decided to exempt from the visa requirement Chinese citizens holding ordinary passports who wish to enter, transit, leave or remain in the territory of the Republic of Cuba.

Chinese citizens who wish to remain in the territory of the Republic of Cuba for a period of more than ninety (90) days, starting from entry, must apply for the corresponding visa.

Norway present at the International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba and Anti-imperialism, in Havana

Oslo, 3 de mayo de 2024. The International Meeting in Solidarity with Cuba and against Imperialism, took place at the Havana Convention Center, on May 2nd.

Ingrid M. Schanche, leader of "Norway For Peace"; Ahmed S. Al-Saedi, member of the International Committee of the Red Party, and Paulius Eidukas, member of the Communist Party of Norway and the Norway-Cuba Friendship Association, were among the 1,144 delegates from 58 countries and 220 organizations, that attended the event, representing trade union centers, solidarity movements, and political parties.

Ambassador of Cuba takes part in activities of the Norwegian Communist Party (NKP) on the occasion of International Workers' Day

Oslo, May 2, 2024. In the morning hours of the 1st of May, in the Nordre Gravlund cemetery, the Ambassador of Cuba, Maité Rivero Torres, took part in the traditional ceremony organized by the Communist Party of Norway (NKP) to pay homage to the militants that were executed and disappeared during the Nazi occupation between 1940 and 1945.

As in previous years, NKP seized the opportunity to pay also a memorial tribute to the Norwegian communist poet Rudolf Nilsen, who died in 1929.
