Norwegian Nursing students take training courses in Cuba
Oslo, March 12, 2024. Nursing students from the Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet) have joined the University of Medical Sciences in the Cuban province of Ciego de Ávila to receive a three-month training course.
“As part of our internationalization strategy, it is with great pleasure that we welcome Norwegian students who come to do internships in the area of Nursing,” the Cuban University published on its Facebook profile.
Cuban Embassy in Norway celebrates International Women's Day
Oslo, March 11, 2024. On the occasion of International Women's Day, which was celebrated on March 8, the Cuban Embassy in Norway organized an activity to pay tribute to a group of Norwegian, Latin American and Cuban female friends, as well as to the women who make up its staff.
Mr. Daffne Ernesto Mirabal García, Second Secretary, in his central words, recalled the origin and meaning of the commemoration, and conveyed sincere congratulations to the women from all over the world, particularly those present.
Cuban Ambassador greets Norwegian Foreign Minister
Oslo, March 11, 2024. During the reception offered by the Presidium of the Norwegian Parliament (Storting) in honor of the diplomatic corps on March 7th, the ambassador of Cuba to the Kingdom of Norway, Maité Rivero Torres, had the chance to present her greetings to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Espen Barth Eide.
The Cuban diplomat thanked the Norwegian Foreign Minister for the opportunity to exchange briefly, and expressed her willingness to continue working for the development of existing relations between both countries. (Embacuba Norway)
Cuban Ambassador participates in reception at the Norwegian Parliament
Oslo, March 8, 2024. The ambassador of Cuba to Norway, Maité Rivero Torres, attended the reception offered annually by the Presidium of the Norwegian Parliament (Storting) in honor of the diplomatic corps accredited in Norway.
The words of greeting and welcome were given by Nils T. Bjørke, second vicepresident of the Storting. Ine Marie Søreide Eriksen, chair of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, and Espen Barth Eide, Minister of Foreign Affairs, also made their remarks.
Professors from the University of Havana incorporated into the University of South-Eastern Norway
Oslo, March 8, 2024. Within the framework of the cooperation project "Ecological Connections: Cultural Studies in Cuba and Norway" (Ecocon), two professors from the Faculty of Arts and Letters of the University of Havana ‒Gretel Gutiérrez Fuentes and Marilé Ruiz Prado‒ joined the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) in Bø some weeks ago.
This stay on the university campus is part of the exchange of postgraduate students that takes place between both academic institutions.
