Cuban pianist and composer Roberto Fonseca and his band in “Oslo World 2023”

Oslo, November 5, 2023. As part of this year´s edition of the “Oslo World” music festival, Roberto Fonseca and his band gave an excellent concert to Cuban music lovers who gathered at Cosmopolite Scene, on November 2nd.

With the performance of several pieces from his most recent album “La Gran Diversión”, the outstanding Cuban pianist and composer, along with his musicians, delighted the audience.

It was a privilege for the Cuban diplomats accredited in Norway to attend this concert, that highlighted the name of Cuba and its culture. (Embassy of Cuba in Norway)

Statement by Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, during the presentation of Draft Resolution “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba”

Distinguished delegates;

The blockade violates the right to life, health, education and the well-being of all Cuban men and women. It is felt by our families who endure the shortage of supplies in our stores, long queues, sky-rocketing prices or devalued salaries.

Cuban Ambassador is received by the Director General of Multilateral Affairs of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry

Oslo, October 26, 2023. The Ambassador of Cuba, Maité Rivero Torres, was received at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Tine Morch Smith, recently appointed as Director General of Multilateral Affairs.

The meeting allowed the Ambassador to review topics of interest on the multilateral agenda and ratify the will of working together for strengthening the cooperation existing between the two countries within the framework of international organizations, particularly at the United Nations system.

The Cuban Culture Day is celebrated in Norway

Oslo, October 20, 2023. Members of the Norway-Cuba Friendship Association, fellow nationals and friends from Latin America and other countries living in this city joined the staff of the Embassy of Cuba to celebrate the Cuban Culture Day.

The ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres, explained that every October 20 Cuba celebrates its National Culture Day in memory of that day in 1868, when the people sang for the first time the notes of La Bayamesa, which became the National Anthem and marked the birth and identity of the Cuban nation.
