On May 28, the Government of the United States finally announced a group of measures aimed at implementing the policy announced on May 16, 2022.  The purpose of this step, according to the text published by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), is to support the private sector in Cuba.

Cuban ambassador visits Norwegian Marine Research Institute to follow up on cooperation in marine aquaculture

Oslo, May 28, 2024. The Cuban ambassador to Norway, Maité Rivero Torres, seized her recent stay in Bergen to visit the Norwegian Institute of Marine Research.

The Cuban diplomat held a fruitful meeting with the Norwegian experts from that scientific center linked to the cooperation project “Production of marine fish fry in Cuba”, which promotes sustainable marine aquaculture in Cuba, and that has as its counterpart the Cuban Fisheries Research Center (CIP).

Ambassador of Cuba to Norway visited the University of Bergen

Oslo, May 27, 2024.  On May 23, the Cuban ambassador to Norway, Maité Rivero Torres, visited the University of Bergen.

There she was received by Benedicte Carlsen, Vice-rector for Research and International Relations, with whom she had a cordial exchange on the potential for the development of relations with Cuban universities, as a contribution to the strengthening of ties between the two countries in the academic field.

In the framework of the Bergen International Festival, the Ambassador of Cuba interacts with relevant Norwegian personalities.

During the opening of the Bergen International Festival, the Cuban ambassador to Norway, Maité Rivero Torres, had the opportunity to greet and interact with relevant Norwegian personalities, such as the Minister of Culture and Equality, Lubna Jaffery; the mayor and the governing mayor of Bergen municipality, Marit Warncke and Christine Meyer; the former prime minister, leader of the Conservative Party (Høyre) and member of the Storting’s Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense, Erna Solberg, and the director of the Festival, Lars Petter Hagen.
